District Doubles Trophy Challenge 27 September 2025 @ Shore Archery Club

Are you a husband and wife that shoot together? Parent and child? Siblings? Best friends?
Do you think you have what it takes to beat other pairs in the district? Are you prepared to work together to win the coveted District Doubles trophy?
Come along to Shore Archery Club, 9 Argus Place, on Saturday 27 September with your parent/partner/buddy and shoot for the trophy. To level the playing field, Auckland District will help by providing bows and arrows – beginner’s wooden and plastic recurves (no sights) will be used.
If you have your own wooden or plastic recurve or longbow you’d like to bring along, let us know. You will be required to take the sight off.
Bring your own armguards/finger-tabs if you have them, otherwise it will be provided for you.

9am Muster and Equipment Assignment
9.30am Start Shooting
(Short Queen Adelaide Round: 122cm target, 36 arrows at 30m & 20m)
12.30pm Lunch (Fundraising BBQ will be on site) and fun event
1.30pm Match Play for the Trophy
Approx. 4pm Prize-Giving
$20 per team, details will be sent out when a shooting spot is penciled in.

The Auckland District Archery Association is proud to present the Target Season Opening day for Auckland 2025.

Hosted by River Glade Archery Club, this is a chance for all archers in the district to get together and welcome in the summer archery season.

The shoot will be a Canadian 900 and Short Canadian 900 so that all clubs can have the chance to pit their best teams against each other for the start of the outdoor Postal League for Archery NZ. There is a trophy to be won!

This is a free event for all archers in the district to come along, meet and greet each other and start the season with a fun event.

Schedule:

9.30am Welcome and First Arrow

10am (approx) start shooting

12.30pm (approx) BBQ lunch

 

Canadian 900: 30 arrows at 55, 45, 35m; 122cm target for recurve/barebow; 80cm target for compound

Short Canadian 900: 30 arrows at 45, 35, 25m; 122cm target for recurve/barebow/novice; 80cm target for compound

2x 720 and non elimination Matchplay
Priority will be given to people registered for the full tournament.

Ranking Rounds on the Saturday for all divisions.
Non-Elimination Match-Play on Sunday.
Entries must complete both rounds for ranking to be eligible for matchplay.
Matchplay divisions will be dependent on entries with possible youth combinations.

Bring an old or spare arrow for the fun events!
Iron Kiwi and mini clout

ALSO a “camera shoot” competition will be held during the respective ranking rounds. To participate put a gold coin in the pot before the event begins. The first archer of the day to hit the ‘X’ marked in the centre of their target wins the prize!

Any withdrawals from competition after the closing date will not be issued a refund.
